The aim of this research was to investigate the asymmetry of visual and auditory stimuli in related brain areas through EEG in table tennis forehand impact. The research design was in-group and the research method was semi-experimental. Participants: 16 female students of Tehran University (23±6 years old), all of whom were right-handed, were selected as available. Subjects first watched a video of a skilled person performing a table tennis forehand for one minute. Then they performed the forehand shot as a pre-test. After that, the participants were randomly placed in two conditions of visual stimulus (seeing the forehand strike) and auditory stimulus (hearing the sound of the strike) and the EEG activity in the related areas (O1-O2-T7-T8) in alpha and beta waves simultaneously and It was recorded in two baseline conditions before and after. At the end, the post-test of forehand performance was taken. Asymmetry index was obtained by measuring left-right (vision and hearing area) divided by left + right measurement (vision and auditory area). After calculating the asymmetry index for visual and auditory stimuli, the results of the 4 (conditions) x 2 (brain regions) x 2 (band) three-way analysis of variance showed that the auditory region had more asymmetry than the visual region (P=0.001). In the first condition, i.e. the first resting phase, the beta band had more asymmetry than the alpha band (P=0.02). In the visual area and alpha band, the asymmetry in the auditory stimulus condition was higher than the first rest condition (P=0.032).
